What Color Blue is Right for Your Room?

Updated: Jun 10, 2023

Blue walls and carpets are really trending in the design world today and there are endless shades of this color to choose from. Although all colors go in and out of style, blue has the most staying power and is often mentioned as a client favorite. The color blue ranges from cool and refreshing in its lighter tones to sophisticated and elegant in its deeper shades. No wonder blue is so popular!

Teal Blue Dining Room Turns up the Glam

With teal blue walls and pure accents of gold, white and crystal, this dining area is

a glamorous family retreat. The clear finishing touch for this dining room was the gracious blue-green tartan-inspired plaid area rug. Cut from broadloom carpeting

and customized with a wide binding edge finish, it is the perfect rug size for this space.

Our onsite carpet workroom can fabricate carpet to any size or shape.

Navy Blue and White Carpet Grounds the Room

The navy blue carpet cues the color scheme for this crisp, transitional living room.

The geometry of the rug is echoed in the mirror and tile and is further enhanced

by the symmetry of the furniture placement. The silver touches in the table and

accent pieces pair beautifully with the navy and add the perfect touch of brightness.

Blue and Cream Stair Runner Creates Pizazz

Blue is also a color used frequently when decorating a coastal home or just to bring a light nautical feel to a space. Our recently installed awning-stripe stair runner adds a breezy touch of Cape Cod charm to this lovely stairway. Would a vertical stripe stair runner add pizazz to your staircase?

Create Calm with Soft Blue Décor

Choose softer blues to enlarge a space and evoke feelings of peace and serenity. This

dreamy blue living room is perfect for reading and relaxing. The hand-dragged strie' patterned blue and grey carpet adds subtle beauty and unabashed glamor to the space.

The pale blue throw and pillows add just the right touch of coziness to the room.

Organic Pattern Mimics Nature

Blues in patterns that reminds us of the water and sky bring tranquility to the home.

Our Harbor Pointe carpet looks gracious on this straight set of stairs, but would look equally calming installed as wall-to-wall carpet in a bedroom or study. Choosing patterns inspired by nature's bounty help connect us to the outside world.
