K. Powers & Company takes a pro-active approach to promoting natural products such as wool, silk and vegetable fibers. We believe that the best quality carpets and rugs are also the most eco-friendly. However, we also believe that style and quality does not have to be sacrificed to give consideration to environmental impact when choosing a carpet or rug. You’ll find the majority of our floor coverings fit into one of the following categories.

Grades of Green

100% Green: All natural wool and vegetable fiber products from fully sustainable resources. Completely bio-degradable.

• 100% wool carpets with natural jute backing and no chemical dyes. 
• Natural Vegetable fiber flooring with no chemical dyes, including sisal, jute, abaca and others.
• Hand-knotted rugs in 100% wool and wool, silk and other natural fibers. backing. Partially bio-degradable.

Very Green: Natural wool and vegetable fiber flooring with some synthetic dyes and/or premium synthetic backings.   

• Wool hand-tufted rugs with natural rubber latex backing.
• Machine woven and tufted broadloom carpet and rugs.

Green: Synthetic carpet labeled Green-label Plus by the Carpet and Rug Institute.
